Jewel Plummer Cobb (January 17, 1924 – January 1, 2017)[1] was an American biologist, cancer researcher, professor, dean, and academic administrator.

Jewel Isadora Plummer was the only child of Frank V.
Plummer, and Carriebel (Cole) Plummer. Both of her parents used to live in Washington D.C.[3] Her mother, Carriebel, found employment as a physical education[4] and dance teacher who graduated from college with a BA in interpretive dancing.
